Questions about working with us
Do I need a CV to apply?
No. You can start your application on your phone in about five minutes and add your work history later. We will ask about your experience, the roles you are interested in and where you can work, and then a member of our team will call you to talk through the next steps. A CV helps us match you faster, so upload one if you have it, but it is not needed to get started.
How often am I paid?
Weekly. For nursing and healthcare assistant shifts, you approve your hours in the Sync app after each shift and are paid every Friday through PAYE, with holiday pay and a workplace pension. Live-in carers are self-employed and are paid a weekly fee for each placement, agreed before it starts. Whatever role you do, you can see the rate before you accept any shift or placement, so you always know what you will earn.
Which checks do I need?
You need an enhanced DBS check, two references, proof of your right to work in the UK, photo ID, proof of address, occupational health clearance and in-date mandatory training. Nurses also need an active NMC PIN. We help you with each one: you can upload documents in the Sync app, see what is still outstanding, and our compliance team will tell you if anything needs renewing. Our team works to get you ready to book shifts as quickly as possible.
Do you pay for training?
Yes. Mandatory training for our nurses and healthcare assistants is paid for, and we offer extra courses such as dementia care and end of life care to help you build skills and pick up a wider range of shifts. If some of your training has expired, we will tell you exactly which courses you need. Keeping your training in date in Sync also means you can be booked quickly when new shifts come up.
What types of jobs do you offer?
We offer agency shifts for registered nurses and healthcare assistants in care homes, nursing homes, private hospitals and supported living services, and live-in care placements with families at home. You can choose one type of work or mix them. Shifts are available across Surrey, Kent, Sussex, London, Berkshire and Hampshire, and live-in placements across Surrey, Kent and Sussex. Browse the job sections to see current roles near you.
Can I work flexibly around family or study?
Yes. Most people work with us because of the flexibility. You choose your own shifts in the Sync app, so you can work days, nights, weekends or a mix, and as many or as few shifts as suits you. Live-in carers choose placements and rotas, such as two weeks on and two weeks off. Tell us your availability when you register and we will send you alerts for shifts that fit.
