Questions

Questions about nursing jobs

What do nursing jobs in the South East pay?

Our nursing shifts in the South East typically pay £24–£28 an hour, depending on the setting, the shift and your experience, with higher rates for nights, weekends and bank holidays. You can see the exact rate on every shift before you accept it, so there are no surprises. Specialist roles, such as nurse-in-charge shifts, usually pay more. Pay is weekly, and we'll talk you through current rates in your area when you register.

How am I employed?

You work through PAYE with weekly pay, holiday pay and a workplace pension. There are no umbrella companies and no hidden deductions, so the rate you see is the rate you are paid before normal tax and National Insurance. Your payslip shows every shift you worked. Because you are paid through us, you can pick up shifts at different care homes and hospitals without signing up to each one separately.

Can I choose my shifts?

Yes. You pick the shifts you want in the Sync app and get alerts when new ones come up near you, so you can work around family, study or another job. You can work as much or as little as you like, from the odd extra shift to a full rota. Many nurses build a regular pattern at one or two homes they like, which helps residents too, because they see familiar faces.

Do you accept newly qualified nurses?

We usually ask for at least six months of UK experience after qualifying, because agency shifts mean walking into different settings and taking charge quickly. If you are newly qualified, get in touch anyway and we will talk through your options honestly, including the types of setting where you would be well supported. You will need an active NMC PIN, the right to work in the UK and in-date mandatory training.

What do I need to register?

To register you need an active NMC PIN, the right to work in the UK, photo ID, proof of address, an up-to-date CV with employment history, two professional references, a DBS check (we can arrange one) and in-date mandatory training. You can upload documents in the Sync app and see what is still needed. Our compliance team checks everything quickly so you can start booking shifts as soon as possible.

Where are the nursing shifts in the South East?

We work with nursing homes, care homes, private hospitals and supported living services across the South East. Shifts are matched to where you live and how far you are happy to travel, which you set in your profile. You can see the location, setting and rate of every shift before you accept. If you drive, you will usually have more choice, but many shifts are close to public transport too.
