Medicare People is looking for experienced self-employed live-in carers in Horsham to support people who need help with everyday living. Our introductory care service introduces carers directly to families looking for reliable, compassionate support at home.

As a self-employed live-in carer, you'll work closely with each client to give care that matches their needs and preferences. This could include personal care, mobility support, help with medication, preparing meals, companionship and practical help around the home.

It's a rewarding role: you'll give personalised care, build lasting relationships with clients and their families, and help people stay independent in their own homes for longer. We work with families across Horsham and nearby, so there are regular opportunities for self-employed carers to find live-in placements.

What you'll do

• Give compassionate care in the client's home
• Help with washing, dressing and personal grooming
• Encourage independence wherever possible
• Provide companionship and help reduce loneliness
• Help with mobility and moving safely around the home
• Prepare meals and support healthy eating
• Give medication safely
• Keep the home clean, tidy and safe
• Help with shopping and collecting essentials
• Record important information in the care notes
• Report changes in wellbeing promptly
• Work as part of a wider care and support network

What you'll bring

• Previous professional care experience (preferred)
• A caring, patient and compassionate nature
• Confidence working on your own in a client's home
• Good communication and listening skills
• The ability to adapt to different clients and care needs
• Reliability and a professional attitude
• A commitment to person-centred care
• Experience supporting people with daily living
• The right to work in the UK
• Experience giving medication (desirable)
• Live-in experience is welcome but not essential
