Our healthcare assistant shifts in the South East typically pay £14.50–£16 an hour, depending on the setting and the shift, with higher rates for nights, weekends and bank holidays. You can see the exact rate on every shift before you accept it. Senior carer and complex care shifts usually pay more. Pay is weekly, and we'll talk you through current rates in your area when you register.

You work through PAYE with weekly pay, holiday pay and a workplace pension. There are no umbrella companies and no hidden deductions, so the rate you see is the rate you are paid before normal tax and National Insurance. Your payslip shows every shift you worked. You can pick up shifts at different care homes, hospitals and supported living services without signing up to each one separately.

You need at least six months of care experience and in-date mandatory training, such as moving and handling, basic life support, safeguarding and infection control. A Care Certificate or NVQ/diploma in health and social care helps but is not essential. You also need the right to work in the UK, two references and a DBS check, which we can arrange. If some training has expired, we can point you to courses.

You get free scrubs and an ID badge, shift alerts in the Sync app, weekly pay, holiday pay and a workplace pension, and a coordinator you can call whenever you need help. You choose your own shifts, so you can fit work around family or study. Many healthcare assistants build a regular pattern at homes they enjoy, and we can help you develop towards senior carer roles.

Yes. You pick the shifts you want in the Sync app and get alerts when new ones come up near you. You can work days, nights, weekends or a mix, and as many or as few shifts as suits you. You can see the setting, location and rate before you accept. Building a regular pattern at one or two settings helps you get to know residents and staff.

We supply healthcare assistants to care homes, nursing homes, private hospitals and supported living services across the South East. Shifts are matched to where you live and how far you are happy to travel, which you set in your profile. If you drive you will usually have more choice, but many shifts are close to public transport.
