How much can I earn?

• £200 for each nurse you refer
• £100 for each Band 2 HCA or support worker you refer

How it works

1. Send us their details by phone, email, post or our online referral form.
2. We get in touch with them. One of our consultants contacts your referral to start their registration and find them work.
3. They complete their hours. Your referral needs to work at least 62 hours and 30 minutes within six months of their first shift after becoming compliant. Hours must be approved and verified by our clients.
4. Claim your bonus. Contact your consultant within three months of your referral completing their hours.

Referral terms and conditions (2024)

Definitions

• Compliant: has passed our full registration and compliance checks and is eligible for agency work.
• Referral: a person who has never worked for Medicare People, or has not worked with us in the last 12 months (a “new worker”).
• Referral bonus: £200 per nurse; £100 per Band 2 HCA or support worker.
• Referral date: the date Medicare People receives the referral’s details.
• Referrer: the person submitting the referral.
• Qualifying criteria: the conditions that must be met before a bonus is paid.
• Scheme: the Medicare People Refer a Friend scheme.
• Temporary placements: short-term, seasonal or casual assignments.
• Worker: a person who has previously worked for Medicare People.

Scheme overview

The scheme rewards referrers who introduce qualified nurses, midwives, HCAs and support workers interested in temporary agency work in the UK. A bonus is only paid once the referral has completed the required working hours.

Qualifying criteria

1. Referral submission: referrals can be made by phone, email, post or the online referral form. A consultant will then contact the referral to begin registration and arrange placements.
2. Eligible professions: nurse, midwife, HCA or support worker.
3. Hours worked: a minimum of 62 hours and 30 minutes, completed within six months of the referral’s first shift after becoming compliant, and approved and verified by Medicare People’s clients.

Bonus payment

The bonus is paid only once all qualifying criteria are met and the referrer has requested payment within three months of the hours being completed.

General terms

Medicare People may refuse a payment if:

• the referral has registered with us within the last 12 months
• the referral does not meet the qualifying criteria
• the referral already works for Medicare People
• there is any other reasonable justification

Medicare People reserves the right to amend the terms of the scheme at any time, to withdraw or replace the scheme without compensation, and to end the scheme without processing outstanding claims.
