About the Children's Healthcare Assistant (HCA) job in Wellington
As a Children's Healthcare Assistant (HCA) in Wellington, you’ll deliver tailored care to children in a specialist SEND school, supporting both their health and educational experience.
You’ll provide a mix of 1:1 and group support, helping students with complex conditions such as tracheostomy needs and diabetes, always working in line with individual care plans and adapting across the school day.
By working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you’ll help ensure each student feels supported and included.
A valid UK driving licence is essential, with the added benefit of flexible shift selection to suit your routine.

- Interested permanent or open to temp to perm roles

What you'll bring
- Previous experience as a Children’s Healthcare Assistant or similar role
- Willingness to learn tracheostomy and diabetes care

PMVA trained
- Strong understanding of child-centred support
- Confidence supporting both individuals and groups
- Ability to follow detailed care plans
- Calm and responsive in emergencies
