About the Complex Care Healthcare Assistant (HCA) job in Hemel Hempstead
As a Complex Care Healthcare Assistant (HCA) in Hemel Hempstead, you’ll provide high-quality support to residents with complex care needs in residential and nursing home settings.

- Must be a strong swimmer with a bubbly and engaging personality.
Experience with:
- Cerebral palsy
- Dystonia
- Oral suctioning
- PEG feeding
- Oxygen therapy
- Seizure management
- Tracheostomy trained

What you'll do
- Deliver person-focused complex care
- Promote dignity and independence
- Support personal care needs
- Assist with mobility and positioning
- Support eating and drinking
- Administer medication safely
- Record vital signs and updates
- Perform ECG monitoring
- Support dressings and skin care
- Assist with blood tests (phlebotomy)
- Carry out Doppler checks
- Support B12 injections when trained
- Provide reassurance and support
- Maintain safe care settings
- Report health concerns
- Work closely with nurses
- Complete accurate care records
What you'll bring
- 6+ months UK experience as a Complex Care Healthcare Assistant (HCA) in a care home or nursing setting
- A calm, patient and caring approach
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Dependable and able to work autonomously
- Confidence supporting complex and high-dependency needs
- Commitment to safe, person-centred care
- Experience in complex care settings advantageous
- Tracheostomy care trained
- Ventilator support experience
- PEG feeding trained
