About the Complex Care Healthcare Assistant (HCA) job in Brighton
As a Complex Care Healthcare Assistant (HCA) in Brighton, you’ll provide essential support to individuals with complex needs living in care home environments.
You’ll assist with both personal and clinical aspects of care, ensuring residents receive safe, respectful, and person-centred support tailored to their individual needs.
Working alongside experienced carers and nursing staff, you’ll help maintain a calm and well-coordinated care setting.

- Must be a strong swimmer with a bubbly and engaging personality.
Experience with:
- Cerebral palsy
- Dystonia
- Oral suctioning
- PEG feeding
- Oxygen therapy
- Seizure management
- Tracheostomy trained

What you'll do
- Deliver person-centred complex care
- Support dignity and independence
- Assist with washing, dressing and grooming
- Support mobility and transfers
- Prepare meals and support hydration
- Administer medication safely
- Record observations and vital signs
- Carry out ECGs
- Support dressings and wound care
- Assist with phlebotomy
- Perform Doppler checks
- Administer B12 injections (if trained)
- Provide companionship and reassurance
- Maintain a clean, safe environment
- Report health changes promptly
- Work with nurses and care teams
- Keep accurate care records
What you'll bring
- At least 6 months UK Complex Care Healthcare Assistant (HCA) experience in a facility setting
- A compassionate and calm personality
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable with good time management
- Confidence supporting residents with complex needs
- Commitment to delivering high-quality care
- Experience in complex or clinical care settings preferred
- Tracheostomy trained
- Ventilation trained
- PEG feeding experience
