About the Healthcare Assistant (HCA) job in Gosport
As a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) in Gosport, you’ll provide attentive care to individuals with complex needs in a care home setting.
You’ll assist with daily living activities and clinical support tasks, always working to promote dignity, independence, and comfort.
Your role will contribute to a stable care environment where residents receive consistent and thoughtful support.

-Females only required
-Familiar with peg feed training
-Experience with complex care clients (spinal injury, brain injury etc)

What you'll do
- Provide hands-on complex care
- Promote comfort, dignity and choice
- Support personal care routines
- Assist with mobility and positioning
- Help with meals and fluids
- Administer prescribed medication
- Monitor and record vital signs
- Perform ECG monitoring
- Support basic wound care
- Carry out blood draws (phlebotomy)
- Complete Doppler assessments
- Support B12 injections (where trained)
- Offer emotional support
- Maintain a safe care environment
- Escalate concerns quickly
- Communicate with clinical staff
- Maintain accurate documentation
What you'll bring
- Minimum 6 months UK experience as a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) in a care setting
- A kind, professional and patient nature
- Clear communication skills
- Dependable and able to manage shifts independently
- Confidence working with complex clinical needs
- Passion for delivering safe and effective care
- Previous complex care experience desirable
- Tracheostomy trained
- Ventilator care trained
- PEG feeding trained
