About the Complex Care Healthcare Assistant (HCA) job in Peterborough
In your role as a Complex Care Healthcare Assistant (HCA) in Peterborough, you’ll support residents living with complex care needs in residential and nursing homes.
You’ll follow clear care plans to deliver personalised support, contributing to daily comfort, safety, and wellbeing through both practical care and meaningful interaction.
You’ll be part of a structured team that values consistency, communication, and quality care delivery.

- Females
- Minimum 12 months’ care experience
Trained in the following:
- Nebulisation
- Suctioning
- Cough Assist
- Oxygen Therapy
- Epilepsy

What you'll do
- Deliver person-centred complex care
- Support dignity and independence
- Assist with washing, dressing and grooming
- Support mobility and transfers
- Prepare meals and support hydration
- Administer medication safely
- Record observations and vital signs
- Carry out ECGs
- Support dressings and wound care
- Assist with phlebotomy
- Perform Doppler checks
- Administer B12 injections (if trained)
- Provide companionship and reassurance
- Maintain a clean, safe environment
- Report health changes promptly
- Work with nurses and care teams
- Keep accurate care records
What you'll bring
- 6 months+ UK experience in a similar Complex Care Healthcare Assistant (HCA) role
- A calm, caring and reliable approach
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Ability to work flexibly and independently
- Confidence with complex care tasks and support
- Dedication to high standards of care
- Experience with complex or clinical care preferred
- Tracheostomy trained
- Ventilation trained
- PEG feeding trained
