About the Live-in Carer Job in West Sussex (Self-Employed)
Medicare People is seeking caring and reliable self-employed Live-in Carers in West Sussex to support people who require ongoing assistance at home. Through our introductory care service, we help families find experienced self-employed carers who can provide dedicated, personalised support.
As a self-employed Live-in Carer in West Sussex, you'll live in the client's home during your placement and provide support tailored to their individual circumstances. Responsibilities may include assisting with personal care, preparing meals, offering companionship, helping with mobility, supporting medication routines, and maintaining a safe living environment.
This is a fulfilling role that allows you to provide continuity of care while developing meaningful relationships with clients and their families. You'll help individuals remain independent in familiar surroundings while delivering support that promotes wellbeing, confidence, and quality of life.

What you'll do
- Provide compassionate care in clients' homes
- Support personal hygiene and grooming needs
- Build positive relationships with clients
- Assist with mobility and safe moving and handling
- Prepare meals and support healthy eating
- Encourage independence and confidence
- Administer medication safely
- Help maintain a tidy and safe home environment
- Support with shopping and everyday errands
- Monitor wellbeing and raise concerns when needed
- Keep accurate daily records
- Work closely with the wider care team

- Previous professional care experience
- A friendly and caring attitude
- Confidence working within clients' homes
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Reliability and strong time management skills
- The ability to work independently and responsibly
- A flexible and positive approach to care
- A passion for helping people remain independent
- Right to work in the UK
- Medication administration experience is welcomed
- Health & Social Care qualifications are desirable but not essential
