About the Live-in Carer Job in Kent (Self-Employed)
Medicare People is seeking caring and reliable self-employed Live-in Carers in Kent to support people who require ongoing assistance at home. Through our introductory care service, we help families find experienced self-employed carers who can provide dedicated, personalised support.
As a self-employed Live-in Carer in Kent, you'll live in the client's home during your placement and provide support tailored to their individual circumstances. Responsibilities may include assisting with personal care, preparing meals, offering companionship, helping with mobility, supporting medication routines, and maintaining a safe living environment.
This is a fulfilling role that allows you to provide continuity of care while developing meaningful relationships with clients and their families. You'll help individuals remain independent in familiar surroundings while delivering support that promotes wellbeing, confidence, and quality of life.
We work with families across Kent and nearby communities, creating opportunities for self-employed carers to secure rewarding live-in placements.

What you'll do
- Deliver compassionate care in a home-based setting
- Support washing, dressing and personal grooming
- Encourage independence wherever possible
- Provide companionship and help reduce loneliness
- Assist with mobility and safe movement around the home
- Prepare meals and support healthy eating habits
- Administer medication safely
- Keep the home clean, tidy and safe
- Help with shopping and collecting essentials
- Record important information in care notes
- Report changes in wellbeing promptly
- Work as part of a wider care and support network
What you'll bring
- At least 6 months of UK care experience
- A kind, caring and compassionate personality
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Confidence working within clients' homes
- The ability to build positive relationships with clients and families
- Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility
- Flexibility to travel and work in different locations
- A commitment to providing safe, high-quality care
- Right to work in the UK
- Experience administering medication is desirable
- Live-in care experience is beneficial but not required
