In the Domiciliary Care Senior Carer job in Basingstoke, you will take the lead in delivering reliable, person centred care in clients homes. You will work to tailored plans, support mobility and the safe use of equipment, promote nutrition and hydration through thoughtful meal preparation, and offer meaningful conversation that helps reduce loneliness and anxiety. Your presence brings stability, reassurance and dignity.
You will also guide colleagues, provide on the spot coaching, reinforce infection prevention and control, and uphold medication safety with complete and accurate MAR records. You will notice subtle changes in presentation, record observations that matter, and escalate concerns quickly to keep people safe.
Your rota can include days, nights, weekends or longer blocks, giving you the flexibility you need while maintaining continuity for clients.

What you'll do
- Deliver bespoke, person‑centred care in clients’ homes in line with their care plans
- Maintain rigorous IPC standards to ensure a clean and safe environment
- Lead and mentor Care Assistants, offering coaching and practical guidance
- Safely assist with personal care and mobility, including moving & handling and equipment use
- Uphold dignity, privacy and independence in every interaction
- Prepare balanced meals and champion hydration and nutrition, mindful of culture and preference
- Administer/prompt medication against policy and plan requirements; check MAR documentation
- Provide companionship and emotional reassurance to reduce loneliness and build rapport
- Capture clear, timely records; observe changes in health or behaviour and escalate safeguarding
- Work in partnership with families and multidisciplinary professionals, contributing to reviews and thorough handovers
What you'll bring
- Minimum six months UK experience in a Domiciliary Care Senior Carer role in Basingstoke
- Valid UK driving licence
- Confident supporting a wide range of needs within private homes
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
